What has been the general nature of your practice?
Litigation, Real Estate, Estate & Probate, Receivership
Why do you consider yourself qualified to be judge?
I am an experienced attorney and adjunct professor of law. I have practiced before the courts in 10 areas of law over the course of my career. More importantly, I care about Philadelphia and the people that live in our communities. We live in a time where the rule of law and aspects of the United States Constitution are being challenged by the current President and the Federal Government. I will do my part to protect the American ideals of fairness, equal protection and justice for all.
What is it about our criminal justice system that inspires you?
The American criminal justice system is one of the best in the world, even with its flaws.
What about our current criminal justice system do you believe needs to be reformed?
Sentencing guidelines. There needs to be more alternative sentencing options for minors, non-violent offenders, mentally ill offenders and drug-addict offenders.
As a judge, what would your sentencing philosophy be?
Fairness. Every sentence must be fair for the crime committed. That is my philosophy.
Have you ever woken up in the middle of the night thinking about a case and wishing you had handled something differently? If so, please describe one situation.
Never.
Who are your role models and why?
Barack Obama is my role model because he is an exemplary Father, Attorney and Leader. Additionally, Barack Obama in my opinion is one of the greatest Presidents in history of the United States.

Book - The Holy Bible ; Movie - Forrest Gump ; TV Show - The Office
